Beavis and Butt-Head – Project Buffcoat This is a mini-release of 11 newer Beavis and Butt-Head digital releases. These ones ones were prioritized due to some pretty severe problems. For general information about the project, see the last batch's readme file. A few of these season 2 episodes are quite rare, and the tape transfers seemed to be handled differently. An enormous amount of jumping/broken frames needed attention, affecting every single shot in some episodes. These S2 epsisodes also had their original credits removed, though they fortunately and unusually kept the commercial bumpers. Sign Here is also missing more than half the episode... As usual, this project replaces intros with a HQ version. Title cards were recolored to match broadcast. Commercial bumpers were added. Dot crawl was reduced. Format: MKV | 9000 kb/s x264 (1440x1080p/23.976) | 640 kb/s ac3 Changelog: S02E09 - Home Improvement A huge amount of jittering, badly deinterlaced frames were replaced or rotoscoped. The 'disclaimer' scene was fortunately mostly intact. However, some of the other house painting scenes needed to be replaced with upscaled DVD video. Fixed bad transition in intro audio S02E11 - Way Down Mexico Way (Part 2 - Temporary version) Usually, the plan is to wait until both parts of two-parters are available. But this was in such poor shape, it seemed important to see if restoration was possible. Many hundreds of frames needed to be replaced or rotoscoped. In the end, only three quick shots needed to be sourced from VHS. The music videos were fairly scrambled, so Rico was used from Friday Night, and ACDC was used from Scared Straight. Other music videos can be partially upgraded from future episode releases that reuse them. The original credits were missing. For now, a digital copy of the Italian airing of Mexico part 1 is being used. S02E17 - Stewart's House Replaced title card (which seems to have been from a google image search) with one from a VHS recording of a repeat in the "World's Most Dangerous Episodes" block Many bad/broken frames, but not as bad as the previous two episodes. Frame replacement and a little bit of rotoscoping was needed. The videos were in rough shape. The Cars, Tom Jones, and part of Spinal Tap were replaced with VHS. Couch animations in these were rebuilt from scratch. S02E20 - Babes R Us Only a few bad frames needed replacing. Restored the original video by Babes in Toyland, with all of its fire references. Video from VHS (couch animations rebuilt from scratch). Audio from a demo CD from the band with this episode's commentary. In the Babes in Toyland version, restored air guitars to Led Zeppelin from Black Sabbath S02E22 - Heroes Only a few bad frames needed replacing. Restored S2 credits, replacing S3. S02E23 - Sign Here Restored the missing second half of the episode (everything after the commercial bumper) The main cartoon from the History of Beavis and Butt-Head DVD, upscaled. The audio and four restored music videos come mostly from Aspen's new S2 tape. S04E13 - The Final Judgement of Beavis Fixed a few bad frames S04E23 - Safe Driving Fixed many bad frames, mostly due to the digital version's messy DVNR. Replaced Alice Cooper's video credits portion with VHS due to wobbling S05E17 - Top O' the Mountain Fixed a few bad frames due to the digital version's DVNR S05E36 - Bang the Drum Slowly, Dumbass Fixed a few bad frames due to the digital version's DVNR Rotoscoped out shaky video credits on Pavement S06E15 - No Service Fixed a few bad frames Updated Episodes ---------------- S02E06 - At the Sideshow (Aerosmith Version) Upgraded the Aerosmith video quality using a new transfer of Aspen's great S2 tape. Upgraded the 'Beavis smoking' animation in that video from VHS to digital, using frames from the new S2 episodes. S07E18 - Take a Lap Upgraded the Scatman video from VHS to digital using the new No Service release. Fixed a minor sync issue.
